Okay

The strength of the main character (and the story) in the first book prompted me to get this book. It was a good book. The first book was much better. However, I wish there had been less drinking. All the drinking got old. Real old. I get it that zombies are everywhere and he drinks to cope. I haven't made up my mind yet if I'm going to get book 3.

The story had too much emphasis on the rats. But, the Mountain Man is awesome!

was very different from the first ones

I really felt so afraid for the man to be alone and in such a State to have to deal with the tragic dangers real or unreal. my God I can only licken it to what is going on in our society today and the meth addicts and how they will just take from you , kill you, or even suck from another meth addicts sore to get a little bit of meth. no regard for human life and murder for a few dollars.

Not for bed time!

I used to listen to audio books at night to help me sleep. But this series seems to be doing the exact opposite! It’s really keeping me awake until very late nights.
The story gets boring only rarely and then it just picks up with lots of action!

AMAZING!!

The second story in the mountain Man series is amazing! I love zombie movies and books and this one put out a fresh idea for me that you don't see often in these kind of stories. A MUST READ/LISTEN!

Great series!

Keith Blackmore has done a solid job of creating a new style in the zombie genre that is entertaining. The "hero" is a real person with flaws and makes mistakes which makes this series more interesting. Having R.C. Bray narrate the books definitely doesn't hurt 😊

Great follow up - should be part of book one

I'm very much enjoying this Mountain Man character. I don't like cash grabs and I'm annoyed that this book was not part of the first book, but it was so good in and of itself that I'm not taking a star away like I usually would. I plan on reading more of the series and I hope the books get longer as the series progresses. The character reminded me of a drunken Joel from the Last of Us. If you love the power of that story, you will find it present here, only much earlier after the start of the apocalypse.

Pleasantly surprised

Found Mtn Man 1& 2 to be surprisingly good. Can’t wait for number 3 in series!
