Searching For New Opportunities

I was as entertained by this book as much as the others in the series. I felt for Caitlyn who was still reeling from the events which happened in the last book. I applauded her desire to advance her career, but I understood her dilemma also. I was moved by this author's ability to write such fast-paced, action-filled stories with characters who were personable and realistic. I am looking forward to the next book. I enjoyed LB Neibaur's narration, and I thought her performance enhanced the story's entertainment. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.

I love this series! Every book is so well written and composed! I cannot wait to listen to more! Keep writing! The series cannot stop!

Action-packed addition to a great series.

In October of 2024 I read an Advance Reader Copy of SPEC OPS, a few days ago I was offered a review copy of the audiobook and couldn’t resist revisiting the story. I’ve included my original review following this update. LB Neibaur does and excellent job bringing this story and each character to life. While she wasn’t the narrator for the previous books in he series, Ishe did an excellent job with each character’s voice to the point I didn’t realize this book had a different narrator until I looked for purposes of this review.

Spec Ops K9, book 8 in the Tin Star K9 series, is the first book of the series that didn’t just entertain me with action and interpersonal interactions. Spec Ops K9 also felt very personal on several levels. Living along the San Diego Border this story was set in my backyard, so the SOG scenes were very familiar. Caitlyn’s need to prove her and Renegade’s worth by trying out for the USMS SOG was one more thing that made the story hit a personal note. While my own experience had nothing to do with the USMS or law enforcement, taking on a daunting challenge to prove the ability to complete it was intimately familiar. Lastly Caitlyn’s attempt to distance herself from a painful experience in the past was another of the experiences I could easily relate to. The way Jodi Burnett wove all these things into the story, along with Colt getting involved in a case made reading this book an excellent experience. I received an Advance Reader Copy from the author and chose to provide my review.

Neibaur's narration makes an excellent book better

SPEC OPS K9 (Tin Star K9 Series Book 8), my sixteenth read from author Jodi Burnett, who is one of my favorite authors. This 6-hour 1-minute/237-page read continues the trend of well-written, enjoyable books, it caught my attention in the opening pages & I never put it down until completed. As Burnett expands her writings over 4 primary characters it has improved all four. She's created a complex world in which her primary characters interact with an ever-expanding world of repeat characters, some very familiar from her other series. LB Neibaur's narration makes an excellent book even better! A Jodi Burnett book is like a visit from an old friend. "I received a complementary Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more in this series & more from this author, and look forward to DETONATE (Tin Star K9 Series) when it's published in October of 2025.
