Having a career and being a caregiver is hard
This memoir struck home for me. I completely understood Sarahbeth's point of view. We both are the youngest in the family, had young children while navigating caregiving for a elderly parent who over time developed dementia, and the decisions that come with it. Her description of the workplace and her need to put a career face on when entering the office is true for most working mothers. Her personal stories brought laughter and tears to my eyes. Sarahbeth is from Worcester, MA and her Central Mass accent is there. If you are from other parts of the U.S. you'll get the flavor of the region.

Caregiving is hard regardless of the type
I never considered myself a caregiver to my dad after my mom passed 3 years ago because he has been fully capable of working and being independent. This memoir covered some of the thoughts and feelings that I have been battling with during those 3 years. Having to take on the responsibility of paying the bills for his personal and business and doing all things electronically that he does not do is a part time job on top of working full time and raising my own family. You doing ask or choose these things to happen, you are just thrown into this and there is no preparation time for it.
