Features a new exclusive introduction read by author Orson Scott Card.
From the author of Ender’s Game, the major motion picture!
A complex fate. A deadly path. Book two in the New York Times bestselling series Publishers Weekly calls “an epic in the best sense.”
When Rigg and his friends crossed the Wall between the only world they knew and a world they could not imagine, he hoped he was leading them to safety. But the dangers in this new wallfold are more difficult to see. Rigg, Umbo, and Param know that they cannot trust the expendable, Vadesh - a machine shaped like a human, created to deceive - but they are no longer certain that they can even trust one another. But they will have little choice. Because although Rigg can decipher the paths of the past, he can’t yet see the horror that lies ahead: A destructive force with deadly intentions is hurtling toward Garden. If Rigg, Umbo, and Param can’t work together to alter the past, there will be no future.
The adventure, suspense, and time travel continue in this second installment in the critically acclaimed New York Times and Publishers Weekly bestselling Pathfinder series.

There is constant potty talk, which really gets old, I wonder if anyone thinks of potty issues as much as OSC. I agree with other readers that the constant bickering was a drag on the story as well. There was no charm in the characters this time, I lost my love for them. The ending just made me irritated and I’m not sure if I have a desire to read the next book or not. When you fall out of love, sometimes it’s best just to walk away.
Another disappointed fan...

The story was good. The only cons are: The story is told in a series of conversations. And the ending is abrupt and unfinished. Other than that I liked it. I read the first one also. And I'll read the next.Great story, but needs a finish.

Much Better!

My biggest complaint for the book is that the last hour left me confused. I don't want to give anything away, but it left me thinking I missed something and a lot of "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!"
There is a lot of time traveling in this book and it can get a little confusing at times. So don't zone out for part of it or you may miss important details.
Narrators were all spot on. No complaints from me!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I have told my boyfriend he must read! Its great story about time travel.Which character – as performed by the narrators – was your favorite?
They were all great! Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
This book only took me a few days to finish. I wish it was twice as long!Didn't want it to end!

Is there anything you would change about this book?
There's a lot of repetition in the book. Most chapters seem to have constant recaps of information you've already taken in. Not sure if that was a purposeful part of the writing process or just filler. The repetition really distracted me from the flow of the book. Initially I liked the process of exploring other character's perspectives on the situation but it quickly got old.Would you recommend Ruins to your friends? Why or why not?
Tentatively. The concept doesn't his a broad audience, but those who like the genre would like the story. What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The different narrators add a lot to shifting the perspective of the book, but there's definitely a difference in quality between the three of them.Any additional comments?
The overall story is good, and i'm invested in finding out what happens. This is more of a if there's nothing else to read book for me.overly repetitive, but a good overall story
