This book shows Robert's love of women, from his youth, till his death. It shows the different types of relationships he had with the 12 different women and the outcome of those relationships, whether good or bad...
A modern translation is provided for each poem followed by facts about when, where, and possibly, why they were written. This gives you quick, easy to understand information about Burns, and 12 of the women in his life.
One of the obstacles to understanding Burns' poetry is the language he used, specifically the Scots words and dialects - which can be difficult to understand. This is why there is a full modern English translation of each poem included directly after the original. There is also an extensive glossary of Scots words and their modern English equivalent included.
This is the first book in the Enjoying Robert Burns series.

Credit for the posthumous publication of her work must be given to her editor and friend Thomas W. Daphnis and Chloe is a gem from the pen of the otherwise unknown second-century CE Greek writer Longus. It is the only work of his to survive, and little is known of him. The writer focuses on Burns's adoration of each conquest - but surely this pure country lad ran into some trouble with so many ladies in the side in addition to his main squeeze(s). No angry wives? He sounds like quite the rake.
