Ella loved the farm. Sure, it was hard work for a 10-year-old to keep running, but she didn’t mind. After all, it protected her from the scary world that lied beyond its wooden fences. Yet the young girl always tried to keep an optimistic outlook on life, especially since Maurice, her older brother, was there to protect her.
That was until he went missing. Now she is nothing more than a shadow of her former self. She stopped doing the chores around the farm. She stopped leaving the cottage. She even stopped eating and drinking. The fear that secretly lived in her heart began to take over and there was no way for her to stop it.
But one day, a mysterious man knocked on her front door and presented her with an offer she could not refuse. So Ella must now venture out into the dark world she fears most, whether she wants to or not. Will she survive?
