Fae exist only in children’s stories, or so I thought. That was before a nightmarish creature of the Fae Realm dropped into my life. He claimed a seven-pointed mark on my skin signified my magical lineage, the bit of DNA my mother passed down. Days after I arrive in the Fae Realm, I’m thrown into a series of trials titled ‘The Devotion’. I must compete with demons, vampires, elves and more who want to claim their place at the future King’s side. I have no interest in this guy, but it doesn’t help that the King-to-be is a gorgeous, brooding fae.

The Lords of Kassis is a terrific series, with many, many scary events and unexpected plot developments. I love little Mattie, who takes an unplanned trip to the stars!
She finds true love when she least expects it.
I recommend this novella but do start from the beginning and zip through the series; they’re all enrapturing, with Smith’s great sense of humor and mad love.
I only wish it had been read and recorded by a sexy male voice. It’s sooo much better.

Glad it is finally on audible I m trying to collect all of ms Smiths book on audible so I can listen to them when I’m doing other stuff kinda hard to read and drive right. Her series are all books you can listen to over and over

Great Story
Glad to see Maddie and Jai’s story was made into a book, be it extremely short. I love dogs and love that they played an important role. Just wonder what happened to the dog that was injured. Narrator was great as usual. Looking forward to listening to the next book in series!

Short light story
Glad I bought it as it was a light short story. Mattie was just a little too damsel in distress for my taste. If she helped train dogs to sniff out explosives then she should not have been so rattled. She did have her good moments. Wished the story had more updates on the others.
