REDEMPTION (US Marshal Dirk Sterling Book 3) , my twentieth read/listen from author Jodi Burnett, who is one of my favorite authors. Burnett hits another out of the park with this one. This book continues the trend of well-written, enjoyable books, it caught my attention in the opening pages & I never put it down until completed, 6-hours 15-minutes/282-pages in a single read! Burnett has created a complete world in which her primary characters interact with an ever-expanding world of repeat characters, some very familiar from her other series and at times crossing over. "I received an Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. Narrator Nick Cracknell does an exemplery job in his narration. I look forward to reading more in this series & more from this author, and look forward to WITSEC (US Marshal Dirk Sterling Book 4) when it's published in March of 2025. ***SPOILER*** too many clues as to who the mole was gave it away early in the book, but I still had to wait to see how it was concluded. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

In Pursuit of a Felon

I was entertained by the third book in this series as much as the first two books. I admired US Marshall Dirk Sterling's dedication to his job. My attention was grabbed by all the obstacles which US Marshall Sterling had to overcome. I enjoyed the occasional flashes of humor. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I thought Nick Cracknell's narration was entertaining. I was gifted a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without any financial gain, to post this review which included my honest opinions regarding this story.

Gripping story with a great narrator!

As ex military I’m a bit picky about military and law enforcement stories and strategy. Jodi does an amazing job with this installment of the series!!

Not family friendly

I love the series and have listened to all of them with my family. We take long road trips to the doctor and we listen on the way. However this book had too many graphic details that is not appropriate for a family. I understand the plot and storyline but the graphic details could have been done differently.

I look forward to the next installment in the series.

Action Packed Thriller!!

I love the characters and the story is awesome!! Jodi is one of my favorite authors. I can't wait to read the next one and see what's next!!

Action-packed thriller.

Reading Redemption, the third book in the US Marshall Dirk Sterling, reminded me of how much I have enjoyed going on adventures with these characters. An unforeseen additional character from a separate series showed up in the latter half of the book making it a reunion of some of my favorite characters. Along with a cast of characters who have come to be friends, this story is filled with action and situations that include each of them. I have to say of the three books in this series, Redemption is my favorite, some loose strings from earlier books get tied up, but a few new loose strings occur providing questions for what to expect from the next episode in the world of Dirk and the US Marshals. Furthermore, new relationships between the members of the Marshals office create additional questions that may be answered in the future book(s).

This is an update to my original review of the Redemption eBook posted June 8, 2024. On July 20th I listened to the audiobook expertly narrated by Nick Cracknell. While most of the story was still fresh in my memory. Listening to Nick tell the story while adding the voices I’ve become so accustomed to in this series brought the story to life in a way that my reading couldn’t. I’ve listened to Nick narrate each of the books in this series along with the Flint River series and loved his performances more with each book. One of these days I will have to check out some of the stories he narrates in other genres.

GREAT BOOK - Fast Paced US Marshall Thriller

Jodi Burnett does it again with Redemption! In this 3rd book of the series, we see the US Marshal Dirk Stirling go after the one that got away. This book ties up some loose ends from the previous book and takes us on a thrill ride to see if Dirk can re-capture Beaux Crandall, a fugitive that keeps him up at night trying to figure out where he is and how he escaped. The character development continues to grow with each member of this US Marshal's office and there are several sub stories within this action packed thriller, including a few twists I didn't see coming. While you don't have to read the books in order, I do recommend it. That said, this one does well on it's own. I'm a huge fan!
