Author A. E. Fonner heard a call to go beyond what he was. Reborn and Other Versifications is the answer to that call.
Arranged in an evolutionary fashion, these verses demonstrate both personal growth and the process of grieving. As a whole, they illustrate the series of emotions we all experience as we make sense of the world around us and our life within that world. In "Darkness", Fonner shares poetry that came to him at some of the lowest points in his life. "Twilight" includes poems written during the times when he could sense that the storms had passed and the clouds were lifting. Then the verses of "Light" offer explorations of joy.
This collection of poetry presents a journey from darkness into light, depicting the progression of human emotions over the course of our lives.

But unlike her diaries and erotica, House of Incest does not detail the author's relationships with her famous lovers, nor does it contain graphic depiction of sex. Rather, it is a surrealistic look within the narrator's subconscious mind as she attempts to escape from a dream in which she is trapped, or in Nin's words, as she attempts to escape from "the woman's season in hell." Nin's usage of the word "incest" in this case is metaphorical, not literal.

Credit for the posthumous publication of her work must be given to her editor and friend Thomas W.
