Carl was a regular construction foreman. Not the worst, not the best, and definitely not the thinnest. Even so, he didn't deserve that heart attack! He really didn't deserve being reborn into a magic-filled, dog-eat-dog world as a dragon. To be fair, it’s nice to be at the top of the food chain. Now Carl just needs to learn how magic works, which monsters are safe to eat, and why his hoard is so important to him. Dealing with everything changing is hard enough, but he has enemy dragons incoming, hostile environments, and foes constantly trying to get bragging rights by taking down a dragon.

When Alexei seeks the help of a ghost to deal with a swaggering bully, he gets the strength and confidence he hopes for. If in the process, he hurt his best friend Sol, well, he can make it up to the wolf later. Things get worse when the ghost, an old Siberian soldier, demands that Alexei give up his gay life, which Alexei fled his home country for. The young fox is resolved to send the ghost away--until his sister, left behind with their abusive parents, falls into mortal danger from which only the ghost can save her.

Absolutely exceptional
Not a lot of murder mysteries focus so much on the characters as more than props, but Reaper's Lottery makes it more than just a puzzle for the reader to solve, it really lets you know and care about the characters, too.

Really enjoyable mystery with a fantastic narrator
I really enjoyed this story and its world building, and I could never quite get ahead of it and predict all the twists and turns. The MC goes through great character growth and the supporting cast is great. The narrator for this book is so incredibly talented, what amazing voice work. It made the book that much more enjoyable!

My first Gre7g Luterman book. I loved it, and will definitely be checking out all his other books. And I will check out other Piers Ryman narrated stuff cause he was really good.
