Entertaining fiction
Good story. Keeps the readers attention and has a lot of good military nomenclature. But it lacks a warrior's perspective. For one, no Air Force special ops unit would ever lead a ground special ops combat unit from any other branch - especially MARSOC. It's not their mission or expertise. AF PJs and JTACs are great, but they would never operate as a leadership unit in areas outside their expertise. Second, the 'Whiplash' unit would not be 'part time' with unit members having day jobs...then getting called up by the President to supercede many other tier 1 or 2 special operations units who are superior in every aspect. Just not even close to reality. Third, and here is where I realized Dale Brown, albeit a good writer, never served in uniform, and needs way better editors: no soldier, airman, marine or sailor will EVER call a pistol or rifle a "gun" or it's respective magazine a "clip". That is simply embarrassing.

Tedious; disappointing
This military technology novel is set in 1998 Iraq with the topic being enforcement of the no-fly zones. It's not a bad novel, but it is too long and as a result becomes tedious.
