A pleasantly unique story

Proxima Legends, Vol 1 is a great book with multiple likable characters that you follow, An interesting story that will keep you entertained when following the main character in the VR game, Proxima, and when he is in the actual world. The main protagonist and those who are around in throughout the book are enjoyable and tend to even each other out. The book also has an interesting idea with the two universes (Proxima and the real world) crossing over into each other, with mysterious circumstances occurring leading to a particular group of Proxima gamers' deaths. The NPCs in the Proxima universe having knowledge of the real world was an interesting idea that added to the character's personalities and mystique of the world. There is romance in the book, but I did not find it getting in the way of my enjoyment of the main story.


Overall if you like the author’s summary and don’t mind some romance or Yakuza business, I encourage you to check this book out! It has a unique story, a fascinating idea when it comes to the universes and other games in this universe crossing over, a fantastic narrator, some references to the other books that the author has written, and a witty mither-ficken goblin named Hiccup!

These books were so fun! The kind of amazing action and comedy that only the brilliant mind of Harmon Cooper can think up, and the pure gold performance from Jeff Hays that perfectly brings it to life! Can't wait for the next one!

I love this series. The Proxima galaxy is full of wacky fun and adventure. Highly recommended.

Wild Fickin' Ride!

This is high-quality entertainment, right here! Fun writing, good comedy, and excellent narration. If you like funny litRPG books, I think this will scratch that itch for you. It's part of a larger 'universe' of book series, but there's no need to have read anything else to get it. The Feedback Loop series would definitely provide reference points, though. Hiccup is a special kind of trip, and FeeTwix is my spirit animal. The humor and action are fast-paced. I laughed just about the whole time.

Came for the title, stayed for the goblin

While the story itself is great and interesting, the narration by Jeff Hays just brings this to the next level!
I love that the mc is neither overpowered, extremely smart, nor hyper-charismatic. Instead, he's thrown into an action scene that is happening around him with a great supporting cast of strong characters (aka interesting personalities with clear ideas, characters, and unique behavior) and he can only decide on the direction the party will follow.
I would highly recommend this series to litrpg fans as it has all the great things that we love yet puts the emphasis on the world-building and character progression that is often missing from many books in the genre. Really looking forward to the next books in the series!

levels and stats and such seem to mean little... I know some want to move the story along, but time and time again, it is blast or back stab that does so much damage and the 20 or 40 levels of difference mean nothing...
fun for story, but it is like the author's haven't actually done much gaming...
assassin attempt on someone big, and there are no guards or magic protection?
