Love this series

This is a great series and narration is out of this world. My only problem is that Audible hasn't got ALL of them!!!!! I'm waiting because I will have this entire collection in my library. I consider it a must have.

I Would definitely recommend this book! I think this one was one of the best out of the series but Kresley Cole never cease to amaze! Im absolutely in love and would easily listen to this book again which is a huge rarity for me.

This was a great story. I loved how Garreth and Lucia got together and worked things out...even if it was a tough journey.

Lucia is a Valkyrie and a legendary archer. When she was young she fell for the lies of a man she thought she loved and found herself married to evil and trapped in a nightmare. She almost died to escape and when she lived it came with good and bad aspects. The good is her great archery abilities and the bad is unbelievable pain when she missed a shot as well as a vow of chastity.

Garreth is the Prince of the Lykae. For 150 years he was considered the King but he never believed his brother (Lachlain from A Hunger Like No Other) was dead and because of this he hated being called the King. He tried searching for his brother and even though he couldn't find him, he never truly accepted Lachlain's death.

The first time Garreth saw Lucia (during a football game between the Lykae and some Demons) she was hunting and he knew at once that she was his mate. He tracked her down but quickly realized that she wouldn't easily accept him, even though it was clear she was attracted to him. At the time, he thought it was because of the fact that the Valkyrie see Lykae as little more than animals but later realized it was something more. Garreth's brother came back and mated Emma (in A Hunger Like No Other) and soon after, Lucia took off to go on "walkabout". Garreth thought she was just running from him but Lucia was actually seeking a weapon to kill her "husband" when he returned (which he does every 500 years to try to reclaim her).

Lucia might have accepted Garreth except for the fact that she was convinced that if she broke her vow of chastity, she'd lose her archery skills. Lucia's identity was built around her archery skills for centuries and she wasn't keen to lose that. Also, she knew she'd need those skills in her quest to kill her husband/nightmare since the 500 year cycle was coming to a close soon. Garreth eventually catches Lucia on her journey and convinces her to let him help her. She agrees for the time being but isn't willing to give herself over fully to Garreth and though she has good reason, she wont share them with Garreth so things are a bit difficult at times. Regardless of this, they do fall for each other and also succeed in her quest. Unfortunately, things get more difficult for the couple and some very bad mojo just about splits them up for good. Thankfully, love comes through in the end and they are able to claim their well deserved HEA together.

I enjoyed this story greatly. While I was frustrated with Lucia for not telling Garreth the truth about her mission and why she rejected him, I could understand her reasoning (for the most part). I thought Garreth was a great hero and loved that he never really gave up on Lucia and even when he was pissed at her for putting him through a lot of crap, he still just wanted to be with her and to make her happy. Overall, I was extremely pleased with the story and how things turned out. I'd recommend this story (as well as the series). :D.

Wow! Narrator of a lifetime.

This was a good story, but it was made great by the narrator. I was able to completely tune out reality when listening to him. Looking forward to the next one.
