Pippi Longstocking is Astrid Lindgren’s most well known and iconic character. The red haired, freckled and boldly grinning pirate-king’s daughter was created over many years of storytelling Between Astrid Lindgren and her daughter, appearing in Lindgren’s litterature for the first time in 1945.
Since then, Pippi’s countless adventures together with Hr. Nilsson and her trusty horse Lilla Gubben have been translated to more than 90 languages and become a true staple in children’s literature the world over; winning the hearts of children and adults alike.
