Acerca de esta escucha
Ex-detective Maddy Reynolds can’t escape her reputation and finds herself in the crosshairs of the FBI’s most notorious serial killer, Amos Whitfield. Why? Because like in the Old West, the fastest gun is the trophy.
Whitfield comes to Berry Lake, and before he takes down the famous detective to carve another notch in his belt, he leaves a trail of death in her town, taking body parts from his victims for his collection. He taunts Maddy, making it clear he’ll be coming for her.
Maddy has been out of the bad guy business and has little time to whip herself into shape before facing her most terrifying opponent.

Well Written Crime Mystery
The narration for Pieces by Lara Terco is absolutely professional - Clean audio, smooth natural narration, and a wide range of distinct consistent character voices that made me smile. There is an audio snafu that has the new chapter announcements come very abruptly, but I'm not docking the rating for that because everything else far out-ways that.
I wasn't aware that this book was a sequel so I was a little confused in the first third or so when the first book's plot was referenced a couple times, so if you read this review before you purchase it you may want to buy the first one as well BUT if you are aware it is a sequel and can only buy one copy - buy this one. The narration is perfection and the plot explains what you need from the first.
I would love a world in which women weren't targeted by serial killers and their bodies weren't objectified, but neither the real world nor the world of the book is that. There are men who for some reason think that a rejection is a personal attack and it means the woman is "better than them". I wish I knew how to purge the world of that nonsense idea...
The book kept me interested throughout and the author actually gives you a chance to guess who the murderer is - treating his audience like they aren't dumb. I appreciate that instead of hiding ALL of the clues until the end. That being said - it certainly isn't clear who it is until it is revealed.
The book deals with serial murder and some gore is described along with violence and abuse towards women.
