Fortunately, he can communicate with other animals including a hippie cat that lives on the beach, a great blue heron, and the town’s K-9 officer.

Sheila certainly wasn’t planning to form the Paradise Cove Murder Society. It is fun, though, sleuthing with her new friends and sipping margaritas on the deck watching sunsets.

The Detective Whiskers Cat Cozy Mystery Series is full of funny and clean stories about starting over, rediscovering yourself, and enjoying lots of laughs, belly rubs, and margaritas along the way. The quirky characters (humans and animals) and small town charm create the perfect balance of exciting, heartwarming, and relaxing.

Great story & Outstanding Narration Cast!

Sheila starts her retirement as a widow in her new Florida beach home. Luckily she has her cat, Detective Whiskers, at her side when her neighbor gets murdered. While Sheila and her new friends investigate, Det. Whiskers sleuths with the Paradise Cove animals to clear Sheila’s from suspicion. The full cast of narrators was absolutely wonderful. I recognize many of the voices from other audiobooks and each is fantastic. Together they made this story become technicolor and 3-D for the listener. I hope there will be many more audiobooks in the Detective Whiskers Mystery series.

Margaritas, Mayhem, Murder. Pure Unbridled Delight!

Margaritas … Mayhem … Murder …. When some nefarious Paradise Cove ne’er do well’s conspire to frame Sheila for doing away with a belligerent, and confrontational resident, it falls to her new friends, and her devoted cat Detective Whiskers, to keep her out of the pokey in “Paw and Order, The Detective Whiskers Cozy Mystery Series, Book 1”. Oh if you could see my grin! I absolutely loved this story. These characters, the narration and everything that went into this delightful production! Detective Whiskers, his league of animal co-conspirators and the ladies that befriend and defend Sheila truly redefine “acting in concert” when they unknowingly combine their talents to solve the murder, and protect their peaceful way of living in Paradise Cove. I love the premise of this story! Detective Whiskers is fabulous! When he “speaks” other animals understand him, they know EXACTLY what he is trying to convey, very much like what I see with animals in life; they communicate perfectly with each other without words! With humans … ahhh and here’s the rub, human they THINK they know what is being conveyed, but alas no, and Whiskers has to find other … sometimes hilariously inventive … ways to get his point across! I am going to stop right there! As you listen, you will see exactly what I mean! Not only is Detective Whiskers fabulous, ALL of the characters, animal AND human are fully defined, fully developed and I truly enjoyed every single one … even the nasties! I rejoiced when they triumphed, and YES I cheered as they got what was coming to them with a fist pumping “take that”! I was completely immersed in every aspect of this truly delightful story! What was mind blowing was the narration! Full cast with every character individually narrated, uniquely, beautifully in a realistically conversational manner! This truly delightful cozy mystery was absolutely stunning, five stars stunning across all categories and I can’t wait for more. I loved it !

The Best Cat Detective

Paw & Order is the first title in the Detective Whiskers series (there is a prequel). Whiskers is not your ordinary housecat - he is, in fact, an extraordinary tuxedo kitty adopted by Fred (a detective) and his wife Sheila. I had read the first 7 books prior to the Audible version of Book 1 being released. My imagination had given Whiskers and the other characters voices which were almost perfectly cast for this book. The narrator nailed Whiskers right down to the inflections and slightly raspy tone. This is definitely a book you could put into the player on a longer road trip which would also be suitable for older children as there is no graphic violence or steamy scenes. I'm looking forward to more books coming out. I would definitely recommend it.

I don’t have time to read written books, and love, listening to books on audible when commuting to work and doing errands. I hope the rest in this series are also put on audible.
