The second of 20 children, she is a hard-working, compassionate woman who never gives up her sights of a better life. Dealing with her alcoholic husband, impoverished conditions, and a lack of education, Lenore does all she can to set her children on a better path. Born lucky, Rosabelle is her last child still living at home - a free-spirited, independent optimist.

New Mexico Interest

I enjoyed the first 3 hours a great deal. I was interested in the culture of the author's family. The history of New Mexico was interesting too. The story fizzled out in the last 2 hours, and by then I was tired of the narrator's voice.
