Simone sitzt nach dem Blackout in Hamburg fest und hat keine Möglichkeit, Kontakt mit ihrer Familie in Mittelhessen aufzunehmen. Sie macht sich zu Fuß auf den 400 Kilometer langen und gefährlichen Weg nach Hause. Florian überwacht während einer Herz-OP die Herz-Lungen-Maschine, als das Stromnetz und die Notstromsysteme im Krankenhaus ausfallen. Lukas befindet sich in einem Wetzlarer Einkaufszentrum und wird Zeuge eines großen Verkehrsunfalls. Laura bemerkt schnell, dass sie mit dem plötzlichen Verlust ihres Smartphones nicht zurechtkommt. Wann wird Hilfe von außen kommen? Gibt es überhaupt ein "außen"?
