Heartbreaking
My introduction to Steinbeck. One of my favourite books. Listening to it now and knowing where it is going made it all the sadder.

Great narration, amazing story.
Steinbeck’s masterful storytelling elevates this novella out of its contextual settings into a universal piece that probes the shadowy line between good and evil, and compels readers to consider that intent is the better lens through which human actions and behaviors can be understood.
