An unexpected and fun ride

Would you listen to Oasis again? Why?

Yes, because there's so much I would like to replay because arriving to the end, makes all the surprises and unexpected adventure make more sense now.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Oasis?

I think When Theo meets Fee.

What about Roberto Scarlato’s performance did you like?

I was confused at first by the tonality he was applying but quickly, It all made sense so, yes, I liked his narration very much.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book reminds me a lot of "Three Body Problem."

Took me by surprise

The hook in the first chapter totally grabbed me. I was hooked for the first few chapters, but then found myself getting bored. Character relationships seem oversimplified and 2D, and the writing was almost too witty for its own good. Honestly, I think the narration is what killed it - felt very academic, like they were reading a textbook.

But the end totally took me by surprise and finally made sense of all the things that seemed ridiculous and illogical throughout. The 2 main characters were fully developed by the end as well.

All in all, at first the story seemed like a writing prompt gone wrong, but by the end had great characters and deep themes to consider. I'd listen to the next one in the series for sure, just to find out what happens.

Great for teens

Good basic listening for teens. It took me a while to get into the story because the narration was very monotone and unanimated. Storyline is good and looking forward to the next book in The series.

Just amazing!

Dima Zales tells a wonderful and enthralling tale. Pretty easy to jump right into, very hard to put down. Likeable characters and plenty to keep you curious. Only scored down for the author'ssenseless choice to punctuate his story with needless profanity. But, at least you're forwarned in the book's description. Although ... I almost didn't buy it because of that! However i am glad I chose to.

Robotic narration

I thought the narration could have been improved. it was too far from stroy telling and closer to reading with emphasis in each syllable

Very good

This book reminds me of the giver and the 100 with originality thrown in as well. I hope that this comparison does not give anything away. The story starts with three words. That's the only thing in the story they could make anyone turn away. This is the main characters way to rebel.
He is 23 years old but in his society that age is more like a 16-year-old.
While I believe the story could be enjoyed by all ages I think the target audience is 16 to 25. Being a gamer couldn't hurt either.
I do plan to continue reading the rest of the series.

Incredible!!!!!!!

I have read several of Dima Zales books and they just get better and better. This book is wonderfully exciting. The story is so well woven, it is damn near impossible to stop listening. The narrator is spot on and portraits character emotions flawlessly. Thank you for making my
life richer one book at a time Dima Zales.

Won't buy the sequels

The basic concept of this book is that a kid/ young man, living in utopia (Oasis), helps the new voice in his head find out who she is. To do this he has to play video games to help her.

I didn't see a category on Audible, but I believe this book is YA. Even at the tender age of 60 yo, I love YA. Not so this one. And in full disclosure, I have, and on occasion, still can, have a "potty mouth". It isn't something I'm proud of.

This book is chock full of bad language, one of the favorites being the F* word. I know children begin swearing at a very young age -- it's what they hear. But they don't need to see /hear it in their literature. They do need some type of role model, and this book ain't it!

Roberto Scarlato is a great narrator. I thought he performed male and female equally well, although he did give Theo a whine in some places where they were not necessary. I would be pleased to listen to him again.

I won't purchase the sequels.

Starts Great, then gets confusing

I was on the hook but became confused in some areas. I think some passages could have been much more clear. The concept is great.
