Racist. Criminal. Horrible. Embarrassing. Offensive. White supremacist old author should be banished from an American platform
Vocabulary is too racist and disrespectful to not white people. I'm embarrassed to have let my child listen to the first chapter. I had to have a long conversation with her to teach her why has can not ever refer to people with skin color not white in the way she listened to the narrator say on the audible. It may be acceptable in Brazil, but in a civilized world, it is unacceptable, reprehensible, and criminal. What a mistaken audible get involved with this narration and have it in its list of child books. Audible requires translators to review foreign literature before allowing it on its platform. It is playful to hear how the narrator repeatedly refers to the character Aunt Anastacia as “Negra,” black, “but good Negra,” etc. It has to be abolished from the platform, and there are no excuses for the racial discrimination used by the author. The introduction even “alerts” about the racism way the author refers to create more people. But it advises the listeners to ignore it and enjoy his creativity. Wow! Act audible! Get a translator and assume the messy mistake of allowing it here.
