Al inicio del verano de 1976, Martín san Román es uno de los mejores cirujanos de Madrid, pero pierde su prestigio tras provocar la muerte de una joven en el quirófano y ser acusado de mala praxis por sus compañeros. La llegada a Berlín Oriental con el equipo de médicos españoles es un choque cultural y personal. No obstante, el desafío lo lleva a recuperar su pasión por la cirugía. En el modesto bloque de pisos en el que vive, Martín traba amistad con sus vecinos, los Neumann. Anïta es maestra de escuela y su marido, Otto, es un músico decidido a salir de la RDA incluso si tiene que recurrir a una organización que le facilite la huida. Sauer, un inspector de la Stasi, los vigila y contacta con Martín. El inspector le asegura al cirujano que a la pareja no le pasará nada, solo quiere saber cómo funciona la red que ayuda a los que quieren fugarse, pero Sauer miente. Otto acaba muerto y Anïta, malherida. Durante su convalecencia, Martín no se separa de su lado y se acaban enamorando.

Noche oscura sobre Berlín
Me gustó mucho la novela; es una historia diferente y con un final amargo pero realista.
La voz del narrador era agradable, pero el ritmo y la entonación a veces eran muy planos.
