WOW!

What I love about Roma Gray is that some stories are just fun to read, others incite fear, then there are stories like this one. I wasn't sure what to think when starting this book, but it actually made me think about the mysteries of life and what is out there that we cannot see.

Great short!

What a great story. I’m usually not a fan of short stories, but this was perfect. It reminded me of an 80’s flick. Boys will be boys. They will check out things they shouldn’t, and sometimes they shouldn’t.

Another great one!

Entertaining short story

Terrific short story about three boys and what they find in an abandoned house
Well narrated and a lot of fun

Gray grabs you like a troll under the bridge

Roma Gray is a great short story writer. She really has mastered the fine art of telling a tale that holds your attention, has a beginning, middle, and end and yet is briefly told.

Here we start out with a group of boys who sneak off to investigate a suspicious section of woods. While there they find far more than they expected. What comes afte the discovery drives the title of the story, and you come to learn that this isn't the first or the last time the discovery will be made. What matters is that no one knows where they had gone, and you have to wonder if anyone ever will with the way it ends.

Terry Self slams the story home, and I think he and Roma are a good match for one another. He is definitely a real vocal talant, and should be commended for his work. Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

Horror, but not the kind you're expecting

When I was a kid exploring was just normal. And more than anything else, I found things I shouldn't have and was lucky to not get messed up worse than I did.

This story taps into great What If? What if just one of those times you found the wrong thing? What if no one knew you did?

Roma portrays it with her usual brutal, detached style. No one is safe, but her characters are not automatically doomed either. They will survive or they won't based on their own merits. But what the boys in this story face may not be what you think it is.

Great Story

This is another awesome short horror story by Roma Gray. Her stories keep you interested leading up to the finale, and the ending will shock you. I recommend this to anyone who is a fan of this genre. Terry F. Self does a great job narrating.

Children with no lifeline!

What can you think of that's more terrifying than children in trouble with no lifeline? No adult that knows where they are? How does Roma Gray think of these horrible situations then make them so real that I remembered my own childhood, all the times I took chances that could have left me in the same dire circumstances. From the other reviews, so did everyone else! I was biting my nails, hoping, just hoping, that everything would turn out okay … for everyone … it doesn't always, does it? Remember, this is a horror story.

As always, this author makes you think! It was a good performance, a good story and well written.

Fabulous Horror Short

For a short audio, this was thoroughly enjoyable. It reminded me of my own childhood – although I didn’t have quite so many rules as these boys. I remember the sense of wonder and curiosity that drove me to play made-up games with my friends.

We lived in a new suburb, but I remember reading ‘Anne of Green Gables’ and wanting to go into our attic. My mother informed me I couldn’t because it was just pink insulation. I still remember my devastation that it wasn’t full of dust, old furniture, and family memorabilia.

If there had been an old house through the thicket? Jennifer Mercer would have dared me to go and I just might have.

I have to say, what goes on in the mysterious house in ‘No One Knows We’re Here’ is spooky, creative, and scary. The moment the boys realize no one knows where they are is horrific for them.

The final scene made me smile because I hadn’t seen it coming.

The narrator, Terry F. Self, has a deep voice, but did a good job portraying the young boys, differentiating each of them. Roma Gray crafted a lovely story, great for young and old.

I enjoyed it and I would definitely and voraciously attack the next one.
