New York State Notary Public Study Guide and Exam Prep
Would you like to make some extra money in your spare time? Consider becoming a notary public.
Becoming a notary can be either a career choice or a side job to help you pay some extra bills. No matter what reason you have for becoming a notary, you are going to need to go through several steps to become a notary.
A notary is an official who is appointed by the state government to serve the public as an impartial witness when it comes to completing a variety of official fraud-deterrent acts linked to signing important documents. The official acts are referred to as notarizations or notarial acts.
The toughest state exam for a notary is New York. Applicants are required to pass the exam with a minimum score of 70 percent in order to be awarded their commission. There is no required training in New York, so individuals need to learn the material covered in the exam on their own.
