Acerca de esta escucha

You can’t run forever…

When a body is discovered on a carousel at the fair in The Meadows in Edinburgh, it brings back memories for DCI Harry McNeil. He had history with the man, having arrested him many years ago.

The victim was a high-flying politician, destined for great things, but did his secrets catch up with him? Or were the death threats he’d received not taken seriously enough?

Harry and his team hunt for a killer who will stop at nothing to achieve his goal, putting themselves in the firing line of a madman with an agenda. But it’s Harry himself who is going to have his life changed forever. If he lives long enough…

I was going to give up on the series until the cliff hanger

Too many characters. Too many different perspectives and things going on. But it does come together at the end. Not much in the way of police procedural. I don’t think they even look at cctv or get into actual detective work until the last two hours. And still the bad guys last name is incorrect. If you read the first book you will know. It irritates me to no end. I mean, seriously, the author creates these characters so you would think he would remember. If not, look back. Clearly the editor is not up to par. Love angus king however some of the voices of the character are grating. And he misses some affectations. The banter between the younger detective and superior is tiresome as well. Maybe if read with a more humorous tone it would be better but overall I’m tired of it.
