Grateful For This Book!!!

I grew up in church and spent at least 17 years in youth ministry. Serving is something that was a constant. Yet when i bought into pursuing my dreams and entered the music industry the idea of serving seemed foggy. I've spent ages "networking" and dreaming big. I now it's not all bad, BUT when i read Networking Kills, and listened to Mark from a music industry perspective, it was like I was learning about biblical serving all over again (or at least from a whole new perspective). I'm grateful for this book because it reminded me that Jesus showed us what it means to serve and that example doesn't get forgotten in the business world. It's the same example for every mountain we may climb. So moving forward I'm asking the Lord to help me be genuine in my interactions and look to serve the "person" that I'm speaking with. No longer am I simply trying to "get booked" or "get on a certain station." I recommend this book to all creatives especially those entering the entertainment industry. I also recommend it to anyone from a ministry background who may have become complacent in how they serve or how they translate serving in other areas outside of ministry. Besides all that, the emphasis on family and music industry stories are amazing and hit lost to home (particularly the story about Jonny Cash). Read this book.

This powerful reminder is a must read for anyone who's ever felt the pressure to "be their own biggest supporter" and usurp every meeting into a financial or business opportunity to further your career.
