In Laura Lippman's "One True Love", a high-end prostitute seeks a radical solution to a public relations problem. Finally, in P. J. Parrish's "One Shot", a man returns to his childhood home to learn the truth about a long-ago tragedy.

Some great, some so so. But entertaining all.

Nothing in particular either way. A couple stories were fairly predictable. Some were quite interesting.

The great stories

A diverse set of stories from A bunch of creative minds. In the performance of the stories A lot of which were read by the their authors We're well done.

Several excellent short stories

Any additional comments?

I usually expect a book of short stories to have a few excellent stories which I thoroughly enjoy and all the others in which I have no interest at all. This one was no exception. Five of the twenty stories were fascinating and the other fifteen held my attention for about three minutes each and I did not listen further. My short fuse for a good story might be unusual, but I have learned from long experience that, for me, if I'm not all in by the end of the first page, I am not going to be in at all. That does not bother me. The five excellent stories were worth the price of the book and I am well satisfied and entertained.

A LOT OF NICE SHORT STORY'S

These short stories are right up your alley, if you like murder, mayhem and mishap with hubby, wife and or friend. I don't have a favorite, but there wasn't any I didn't dislike, except maybe one that ended to abruptly.

Excellent short stories

I liked all the short stories each do different and very twisted. Murder with a twist.

Very entertaining!

Enjoyed the variety. Most of the stories were very good. Of course I had some favorites. I'm glad I found this book and really liked the readers.

Great Listen

Great stories that kept my attention. Good narrators for all the stories. I recommend this book!

Riveted from the first word

This anthology of short stories had me from the beginning. Such amazing authors working together equals an excellent read.

Some great, some ok.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I like these anthologies by the MWA. Some of the stories are great and you think this would have made a great book. Some, you just go ok, I got this as part of the whole short story book. I like that some of these writers who I listen to all the time step outside of their normal character base.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

They all had an ending.

Which character – as performed by the narrators – was your favorite?

They were all good.

Do you think Mystery Writers of America Presents needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Yes yes yes. I love these. Some of these shorts are outstanding. Worth the wading through the not so goods.
