But then a pilot is found violently murdered and discarded on Pine Mountain. The local police chief enlists James as an official crime consultant.

James uncovers an unexpected underbelly of illegal marijuana trade in the region, with webs of deceit and crime as competitors vie to remove each other. Were the killers of the pilot his military partners in crime, the crooked sheriff running his own scheme, the violent family member in the business, or the boutique pot grower?

James begins to unravel the criminal organizations and reveal the culprits. He's helped by a self-appointed octogenarian posse. But he becomes the next target for the men unafraid to remove any threat at any cost.
