Good read!
england, law-enforcement, murder-investigation
I've read later books in this series and I can honestly tell you that they are are absolutely impressive as stand-alones. I decided to go back to the beginning so I could see how the DI Greene grew and developed her native skills and I am glad that I did. She is gifted with several rare talents: (un)common sense, and acute observation. This is a very tricky assignment full of misdirection, plot twists, and red herrings, but it is so worth it!
Gemma Dawson gives a fine audio interpretation as narrator.

Interesting plot
I like how Faith writes her series, She is developing a strong story with her characters and telling a great mystery story as well. I am always wanting more!

Decent mystery with irritating subplot
I like the characters and the basic plot is fine, but the dragging out of the increasingly ludicrous backstory of the corrupt dead husband is a waste of time. I wish the author would just wrap it up already and move on, the characters deserve better. Narrator does a good job and the main character is likeable and smart. I liked the first book but after this one not sure I will continue with this series.
