Still in love with this series!

I just love this series! Good clean listening! I enjoy the “who done it” suspense! Julie McKay is also my all time favorite Narrator. She allows us to visualize the personalities of each character. I stumbled upon this series because of seeking out books that Julie McKay has Narrated.

Loved this!

I highly recommend this book , its a wonderful read and great to knit or crochet to for those who are fiber artist. For those who are not I'd still get the whole series!

Totally enjoyed

I really didn't "not enjoy" any thing. As in other books, some times the author goes on and on in her descriptions or a character's musings, but it did not detract in this story. I've read almost all of the rest of the series, and this may be about the best yet.

I have read all the other books in this series and was looking forward to this one. Unfortunately I will have to wait to get a copy from the library. I wasted money on this -and waited too long to return it for a refund.

This series is hard to love

I’m trying really hard to like this series because it has some redeeming qualities and I like the narrator. But oh my gosh, it’s so hard to look past the pit falls of these characters & this writing
1. The characters in this book have picture perfect lives. They never have any real life issues, all have perfect relationships, everyone is always happy etc. It’s so cookie cutter bubble gum that it’s nauseating, and the characters feel forced. In every other series I’ve read by the time I got into book 2/3 there were real moments of turmoil and personal growth with the characters. Here, the core cast all have perfect lives & the only turmoil comes from the side characters. The books all follow this pattern: a stranger shows up in town, a murder happens, the cast digs up the past of the stranger, drama happens with everyone else & then the crime is solved. Every book!!! It’s never internal problems.
2. The books don’t allow you to solve the mystery because the author purposefully leaves out important details you need to solve it. And the omitted info is done in the most frustrating way possible. Example: “Cass saw what fell out of her purse, and she proceeded to tell Nell and Birdy what she saw. And that revelation changed everything” *end scene* It’s physically impossible to put together the puzzle when they blatantly leave out clues this way, and it’s done exactly like this for EVERY clue. Then in the end they reveal the answer but by then it’s no fun.

These two details really make enjoying this series near impossible; and I keep trying to give it a chance.

No mystery, all filler

This book has no mystery at all. It's just monotonous description of perfect people being perfectly wonderful in their perfect little town.

Very Slow

At almost 2 hours into the book...still no murder. Too slow for me.

Although the writing is, at times, quite good, the story often drags. The reader has a soap opera approach that I found more annoying than helpful. I think he is attempting to heighten the drama. I did not appreciate it, since it mostly made the book go more slowly.

A little too cosy.

This was my first read of this author, probably the last, way too slow!
