A New Witch

This was my first experience with this author's work, and it was entertaining. I enjoyed the small-town setting. I liked Isobel Shadow, and I appreciated her struggle with her identity as a witch and with her uncertainty about her powers as a witch. I liked all the twists as the paranormal mystery was slowly revealed. There were several references to the previous story, so I would strongly recommend that the prequel be read first. I thought Paige Huntzberry's narration was great, and her performance enhanced my enjoyment of the story. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.

Fantastic

I loved the way the past and present intertwined in this book. This was a thoroughly satisfying cozy mystery.

LOVELY FEEL GOOD WITCHY MURDER MYSTERY

I was pleasantly surprised to find the narration was identical to the voice in my head when I had read the kindle version weeks ago. Bit spooky! Paige Huntzberry has a lovely, young sounding, easy listening voice and told the story beautifully.
What a lovely, feel good story, it is well written and easy to follow. Freya and Isobel being apart for the first time meant lsobel had to rely on her new witch coven as they battled their way through this murder mystery. I guess Isobel is learning on the job about her magic, as she was practicing new spells to help with clues. I really enjoyed a previous book written by this author Wynnie Harlowe called "murder at the book store" and can recommend this book as well in the kindle version.
Now seriously, this cat familiar...is she going to start talking?

Paranormal cozy mystery

This paranormal cozy had a number of twists and turns as Isabel learns about her magical talents. The narrator brought the story to life. Entertaining audiobook

Wow!

The storyline was great and gave more history on the witches in town. I love Isobel and have been interested in her development ever since Murder in The Bookstore. The characters evolved more has the story went on. It was quite a lengthy tale and could have been a little shorter for me. Yet, I enjoyed the story telling the author has brought another witch tale to life.

I wanted to like it more

The story idea was very interesting. The different steps leading up to the conclusion were great. The writing was a little cheesy (one example: "Ah-ha" - really?). The narrator had a pleasant voice, and she would have been very good except most of the time, she sounded like she was reading rather than telling a story.

Kept me guessing

Thank you so much! I truly enjoyed this listen. The story kept me interested but was a wonderful light listen. I enjoy knitting while I listen and I was capable of doing both and still enjoy the book!

Passable witchy mystery

We don't meet the victim before the inciting incident and Isobel has no connection to him or any suspects. She has anxiety about the general concept of murder, due to the previous book's events. This seems to be her only reason for taking an interest in the murder. Most events only seem to occur because the plot needs them to.

The narrator has a very youthful voice, better suited to middle grade or maybe young adult works. One character gets a slight English accent but otherwise everyone has the same voice. The audio quality itself is great.

I was an ARC reader for this book and completed loved it so when I was released as an audio book I had to listen to it! Loved it just as much! Cozy murder mystery, witchy, found family, sisterhood, so cute!.

Mystery of the pass meets a mystery in the future

Isobel Shadow is a book shop owner who has recently found out she is a witch. She is still learning, but she has a new group of friends and hopes they will help her on her journey. They have started a magical book club called the Charmed Circle. At a meeting they receive a cryptic invitation to go to Astor Manor which had been the scene of a witch being burned at the stake a century ago. This scares them because recently the new owner had been killed on the manors doorstep. When they arrive at the manor they find that there is no one there, but there is a mysterious note.
This was and interesting book where two mysteries are solved.
