This took me back to my childhood, and the multitude of issues we grow up enduring. In the middle of growing up, we don’t always recognize the pain others are in or even our own. This was a wonderful read. I think everyone can find a way to relate to this book. I actually laughed really loud at my desk a couple times. The way he narrates makes the book so relatable. I can’t wait for the next book. I absolutely recommend everyone listen to this book!

I loved the book. I laughed, cried, pondered, got angry. It was a rollercoaster of emotions. I loved the way he depicted the people in his life. The subtle nuances, cadences, and inflections made Reggie's narration of his story enjoyable. I knew when he was his mom, Shucky Ducky, pops. Great job!

This book is the bomb.com! Once I got used to the profanity and realized that’s just Reggie’s vernacular I settled in and enjoyed myself. I’ve known Reggie Hathorn for a number of years. Hearing the book read by him also made it authentic and more enjoyable for me. Reggie will help a lot of people to accept things about themselves that they don’t like and cannot change. It also gives insight to those who have no physical problems as to what those who do go through, especially as children.

I thoroughly enjoyed this audio book! Every word, every line, every chapter leaves you yearning for more. So much detail, emotion, transparency, passion, and creativity. It personally spoke to me and my past trauma. It reminded me of my old childhood wounds and how I once used bandaids to cover them up for years. It was through the process of therapy that true healing and growth began.

There are so many themes in this book that personally spoke to my soul. While I could list them all, I encourage you to purchase and check it out for yourself. I will say that it is so refreshing to see a man of color talking about his painful past and the journey towards healing! He shows you through this audio book that therapy is essential, cool, and a wonderful tool leading to growth, healing, and self acceptance. You will laugh, you will cry, you will reflect, but must importantly, you will be inspired to heal & grow.
