My love life is kind of a mess. Okay, fine, it’s nonexistent. Believe it or not, short, chubby, and furry aren’t characteristics that top most guys’ boyfriend checklists; no guys I’ve met, anyway. My dating history is a shit parade of one-night stands with men who promised to call the next day but never did. And so, I’ve put finding love on the back burner to focus on my business.

I own a bakery called Muffin Tops (get it?) with my best friend Val. I do all of the baking, and she handles ordering and accounting...and talking to our customers because I have an awkward streak in me. Anyway, business is good, but it could be better, so I’ve scheduled a meeting at The Caldwell, the fanciest and most successful hotel in the city in hopes of striking a business deal with them.

Nervous but hopeful, I head to my meeting, not expecting to have my world rocked when I meet Simon, a gorgeous, debonair, charming man who is 16 years my senior. What starts off as a business partnership soon develops into something greater than I ever dreamed of.

This stand-alone M/M age gap romance is for listeners 18 and up! It is low angst and insta-love, and is full of funny scenes, feel-good moments, and lots of steam! There is no cheating or cliff-hangers, and it has a very happy HEA.

What I was hoping for

The book was what I was hoping for: sweet romance and low angst. I expected even less bumps on the road than the MCs had but I'm glad the conflicts were sorted out fast. Narrator was very talented too. Every character had a distinct voice that made them unique, even the males from females. Kudos to him :)

More (audiobooks) to love PLEASE 😉

Yes yes yes! I have constantly stalked Audible for Jayda Marx books! Just hoping and wishing for the day she would release any of her books as audiobooks! I didn’t even care which ones because I love them all! Thank you! I can’t wait for more.

I love all of Jayda's books. They are like a warm blanket on a cold day. Super sweet feel good stories. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters to life. I can't wait for more Jayda audiobooks!!

great story and good performance

Cute and funny with brief drama. I loved this and laughed out loud many times. Though I did want to throat punch the mom. This was classic way OTT smoopy instalove that is classic Jayda. Leaves u with a smile.

I immediately bought this in Audible after reading it and it was just as good the 2nd time. The narration was done well. The person had a pleasant voice and kept a good pace. He expressed the emotions well and brought the story to life and he attempted different character voices though some were very similar. The author is new to audio so I can understand wanting to use lesser known narrators to save on costs starting out and I think she made a good choice overall.

Love and Baking

A lovable sweet story between Simon and Matthew, a story that I will listen over and over again. I look forward to more audible books by Jayda Marx. Great Job.

sweet story

I really liked this story of a lovable baker and the older man who loves him the second he sees him. I like that Simon doesn't just like Matty IN SPITE of him being "bigger" but BECAUSE he's got a little extra. That's just the body type he's attracted to. Everyone is different and one size doesn't fit all. We don't all necessarily want someone who looks the same. He stands up for Matty and is never ashamed of him. Jayda's books are always insta-love, so when you need some squishy, feel good, love stories, she's who you want to read/listen to.

Incredibly sweet with a lot of heart and genuine characters. This is what a book should be. Short, lovely, and excellently narrated. Highly recommend!

Another hit!

Another hit! Matthew and Simon are just the cutest. I also loved Val too! She is such a fun character. I enjoy listening to instalove books between some of the angstier, heavy books out there. Anytime I need a dose of the feels, I always look for Jayda's books. Zachary Zaba did a wonderful job bringing this book to life. I will definitely listen again and again.
