Acerca de esta escucha

When legendary NBA coach Phil Jackson took over the beleaguered Los Angeles Lakers in 1999, the sports world was watching closely. Would Jackson's famous "Zen" approach to basketball work in the klieg-light atmosphere of L.A.?

As it turned out, Jackson was observing himself and his new team closely too, collaborating with his good friend Charley Rosen to record the resoundingly successful 1999-2000 season - which culminated in the Lakers wining the NBA title. Together they documented everything from the challenges of bringing discipline and focus to a talented Lakers team that had failed to achieve its potential, to their views on the state of the NBA. This is a fascinating insider's story about the founding of a new Lakers dynasty and the triumph of Phil Jackson's hardwood metaphysics.

More insight to a champion coach

I liked how Phil and Charlie told their basketball stories and how things were behind the scenes in the MBA and CBA. Great listen for all hoops fans!

Excellence!!

More Than a Game is a deep, insightful exploration of basketball that goes beyond the sport itself. Jackson masterfully intertwines his personal experiences as a coach with profound lessons about teamwork, leadership, and the human spirit. His philosophy of coaching—rooted in mindfulness, humility, and the importance of harmony among players—transcends the court and offers valuable life lessons applicable to any field. Jackson's ability to nurture individual talent while fostering collective success is truly inspiring. For sports fans or anyone interested in leadership and personal growth, this book is a must-read.
