Acerca de esta escucha
I’ve spent years raising my son and running Beartooth Ranch, keeping the past where it belongs—buried.
But when Mia shows up with her daughter and that familiar fire in her eyes, I’m done pretending I don’t still feel it.
I told myself it was just riding lessons. That I could stay guarded.
Then one stormy night reignites everything.
She’s scared to trust me. Convinced I’ll leave like everyone else. And when her ex shows up, she pulls back harder.
But I won’t walk away. Not now. Not when she tells me she’s pregnant.
If I can’t break through her fear, I’ll lose more than the woman I love.
I’ll lose the future we’re just beginning to build.
And I won’t let that happen.

Virtual voice killed the story for me
The story is sweet, but the virtual voice was terrible: words like ‘wind’ was mispronounced changing the meaning— over and over! The voice said ‘dot’ in place of period several times. Voice inflections kept me disconnected from the storyline. I didn’t feel part of the story at all, and would have quit, but wanted to read the ending. I will not try a virtual voice again, and sadly, tgat reflects on the author.
In addition, one never learns how Jake ended up with a son - no mention of a divorce or?? There was no discussion of what to name the baby-it went from she was born to the next chapter calling her Faith. It all was part of the disconnection. Even the very ending with Travis was a let down. He was smirking like crazy, but then…nothing. I doubt I’ll read this author again even if she has qualified narrators.
