Acerca de esta escucha
This Halloween, it's all tricks. No treats.
It’s her first Halloween since being back in sleepy Mangrove Bay, FL, and former urbanite-turned-amateur-sleuth Vivian Blake is feeling the town’s excitement as they prepare for the October festivities. Skeletons, ghosts, witches, spiders. And one corpse. A real one.
Mischief Night—or Pirate Night as it’s called here—wouldn’t be complete without a reenactment of the eerie tale of pirate Captain Treader and his ship, The Bloody Cutlass, that was said to have capsized off the coast of Mangrove Bay.
The quirky locals love their spooky tradition. Well, all except one.
Up in arms about Pirate’s Night corrupting local youth, spoilsport Marion Leggett’s bent on undermining the celebrations, whatever it takes. Amid the chaos, a town resident ends up dead, accusations fly, and law enforcement rushes to find the killer.
But with costumes, hauntings, and pranks galore, finding the murderer becomes a little extra tricky.
With the local sheriff at his wit’s end and Vivian’s friends now suspects, she can’t help but put her sleuth skills to work. Enlisting the help of Ben, Haley, and their new friend Calvin, Vivian races against the clock to untangle the twisting, murderous web before it’s too late.

Just okay
Tjis book was a suggestion on Audible and was read by the new Virtual Voice. The narration was just mediocre, like someone was reading a passage from a book witout any feeling. The voice was not annoying in any way but just didn't have that feeling of someone telling uou a story, no onflections, or character enhancenents. I did mot know this was part of a aeries, the third book in fact, so I had no background knowledge on the main character or the town. Apparently this is not main character Vivian Blake's first encounter with murder. It is Halloween time and all is going well with plans for the festivities, until a local resident, the mainstay of the town's celebration efforts, is found dead. When a good friend of Vivian becomes the chief suspect, it's up to Viv and her friends to ferret out the real killer. A short, entertaing read, but I, personally, need to get used to narratoon by Virtual Voice.

Truly not a fan of virtual voice and would not recommend
Sample before you try this genre.
I had a hard time finishing the book.
I wanted to listen to the series but after just one I archive the rest because I couldn’t delete.
The narration of a story is key. This seemed to just run together.
