Memorias del subsuelo fue escrita en un momento en el que el autor padecía grandes trastornos emocionales producto de que su mujer se estaba muriendo y él mantenía una relación sentimental con una joven, lo que le causaba dudas y remordimiento. Al tiempo del fallecimiento de su esposa, Maria, también falleció su hermano más cercano, Mijaíl. A estos problemas personales, se agregaban además situaciones político sociales muy complejas, tales como la clausura de sus revistas por parte de las autoridades y su adicción al juego, que le traería graves problemas financieros. El resultado de esta situación histórica, personal y anímica es una obra maestra que en pocas páginas concentra más contenido filosófico que ninguna otra obra del autor, y en la que se plantean las cuestiones más extremas que un hombre pueda experimentar. En Memorias del subsuelo un funcionario va narrando las memorias de su tragedia personal, y Dostoyevski logra hacer de él uno de los mejores y más sorprendentes antihéroes de su obra literaria.

A lot of philosophy, in a bitter pill 💊
Hearing this was a shocking encounter with the sickening parts of the soul.
First, Dostoyevsky description results in my deepest contempt for the narrator .
Then, thru the anecdotes from his life, the introspection of his way to reason. The wrong choices he makes I found myself criticism about my own behavior in a few occasions.
This warns me more than any commandments about fall in those wretched behaviors that could transform me in that despicable human being.

Este libro considero que está sobre valorado. Lo compré porque quedé cautivado con el libro crimen y castigo , pero definitivamente una historia poco cautivadora , aunado a eso la narración con una voz lenta y cansada . Me dejó una mala experiencia.
