In this new story, Detective Eden Berrisford investigates some brutal attacks on women in the small city of Stockleigh. She has to work out whether these are random acts of violence or whether they are all connected.

Mel Sherratt has always been writing stories in one form or another. She tells us about her first prize-winning success as a writer, aged 11, when she became the Staffordshire champion of a nationwide writing competition. She also tells us about her previous jobs, which included being a housing officer for her local authority.

It was only when she was made redundant from this job that she decided to become an author full-time. This proved an excellent decision as, since 2012, she has published 10 novels, all of which have become best sellers and each climbing into the Kindle UK top 10.
