Der Liebesroman »Fox Crossing« spielt im US-Bundesstaat Maine, wo der Appalachian Trail am wildesten und unberührtesten ist.
Im idyllischen Fox Crossing in Maine gibt es eine alte Legende: Wer einer Füchsin mit weißem Ohr und weißer Pfote begegnet, dem soll sie Glück bringen. Doch Nick ist wild entschlossen, sein altes Leben hinter sich zu lassen und in der unberührten Natur neue Kraft zu tanken.
Wenig später erweisen sich Annies Warnungen als allzu richtig: Nick verunglückt und gerät in Lebensgefahr. Wie durch ein Wunder wird er von Annie gefunden – woran eine gewisse legendenumwobene Füchsin nicht ganz unschuldig ist.
Doch Annie glaubt nun mal nicht an Legenden, und einen Mann wie Nick braucht sie ganz sicher nicht in ihrem Leben! Kann die besondere Gabe der Füchsin der störrischen Annie helfen, ihr Glück zu erkennen?
