Martin Luther
Acerca de esta escucha
Recognizing Paul’s words to the Galatians as crucial to understanding the truth of God’s saving grace, Martin Luther set out to examine this great work verse by verse, especially for those led astray by the teachings of false gospels. All of Luther’s writings, including this commentary, directly combat the direction of the Catholic church at the time that strove to portray salvation as a thing to be earned and then mediated through religious leaders. Luther also emphasises the importance and influence of the Bible as the sole authority on the Christian faith and on individual salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. Luther’s commentary underlines the clarity and strength of Paul’s words and encourages Christians to grow in their faith and knowledge of Christ, letting God’s love be evident in their lives.
This series, published by ONE audiobooks, seeks to produce Classic Christian titles read by well known and loved Christian audiobook narrators. ONE takes great care to cast these titles with readers who will provide an unmatched listening experience for these important works.
David Cochran Heath brings his passion to every performance and is considered to be one of the top audiobook narrators in the industry.

A comprehensive explanation of Martin Luther’s most crucial and controversial beliefs on salvation, The Bondage of the Will is a critical resource in understanding the theology of free will and the gift of faith. Facing criticism even from others who had disagreements with the Catholic church, Luther’s strong and absolute beliefs on the gift of salvation were truly revolutionary. This work contains the full amount of research, discussion, and debate on Luther’s ideas on free will as it pertains to individual Christians and to their understanding of God.

Historia
Luther’s 95 Theses, written in Latin, were famously posted by Martin Luther on the door of the Castle Church, Wittenberg, on October 31, 1517, an event that came to be considered as the beginning of the Protestant Reformation. The Theses focus on three main issues: selling forgiveness through indulgences, the pope’s claimed power of forgiveness, and the damage indulgences caused to sinners. The first thesis states, "When our Lord and Master Jesus Christ said, "Repent," he willed the entire life of believers to be one of repentance."

Historia
The Epistle to the Galations is regarded as one of Paul's greatest and most important letters. It has been characterized as a "short Romans" and embraces in its six short chapters such a variety of vehement and intense emotion as could not be paralleled in any work. As the second of the trilogy on Habakkuk 2:4, Galatians embodies the germinal teaching on Christian freedom, which separated Christianity from Judaism and which launched it upon its destiny on missionary conquest. Galatians is the guidebook for the release from the bondage of religious legalism.

Historia
The gospel has come under attack since the days of the Apostles. In first-century Galatia, false teachers were creeping into churches and convincing Christians that they had to keep the law of Moses to be saved. To call these churches back from the brink of destruction, the Apostle Paul wrote what is likely his earliest letter: an unyielding defense of God’s saving grace in Jesus Christ. In this volume, Dr. R.C. Sproul guides us through Paul’s passionate letter to the Galatians.

In Commentary on Galatians, Martin Luther expounds Paul's epistle with an insight, power, and depth of emotion which is sorely lacking in modern commentaries. From the very first minute of this book, Luther cuts to the heart of the epistle - the doctrine of justification - in the way that only he can. His bold words and plain-sense interpretations result in a work filled with much of the same force and passion that characterized the epistle itself.

American Christianity teaches the centrality of the individual: my will, my experiences, my decision, my heart, my work, and my dedication. Yet we couldn't be more unaware that Christ and His saving and comforting work are being lost. Our minds and hearts are captivated in some way by those who often preach the Christian instead of Christ.

Institutes of the Christian Religion is John Calvin's seminal work on Protestant systematic theology. Highly influential in the Western world and still widely read by theological students today, it was published in Latin in 1536 and in his native French in 1541. The book serves as an introductory textbook on the Protestant faith for those with some previous knowledge of theology and covers a broad range of theological topics from the doctrines of church and sacraments to justification by faith alone and Christian liberty.

In this comprehensive exposition, a leading New Testament scholar explores the unfolding theological unity of the entire Bible from the vantage point of the New Testament. G. K. Beale, coeditor of the award-winning Commentary on the New Testament Use of the Old Testament, examines how the New Testament storyline relates to and develops the Old Testament storyline. Beale argues that every major concept of the New Testament is a development of a concept from the Old and is to be understood as a facet of the inauguration of the latter-day new creation and kingdom.

Wright takes a deep dive into Romans 8, showing how it illuminates so much else that God reveals in Scripture: God the Father, Christology, and the Spirit; Jesus' Messiahship, cross, resurrection, and ascension; salvation, redemption, and adoption; suffering and glory; holiness and hope.

Thomas Goodwin seeks not to diminish that truth, but to enhance it by ensuring the church that Jesus Christ is also still perfectly loving and astoundingly forgiving. His love for his people is pure, genuine, and humble. He is still the one who washed his disciples’ feet and met a sinner at the well. He is a compassionate and tender father who desires to encourage and uplift his children. Goodwin encourages Christians to endeavor to fully grasp this concept and to let it influence their own perception of and love for Christ.

It is Luther response to Desiderius Erasmus' Diatribe on Free Will, written in his direct and unique style, combining deep spirituality with humor. Luther writes powerfully about man's depravity and God's sovereignty. The crucial issue for Luther concerned what ability free will has, and to what degree it is subject to God's sovereignty.

Why are you Lutheran? It's a valid question in this modern age of denominations, distinctions, and choices. Throw out all those notions you might have about what it means to be Lutheran. When it comes down to it, being Lutheran is really very simple. It's about following Jesus. We go where Jesus goes, we listen when Jesus speaks, we trust when Jesus promises. Historia

Luther was not a pious bore. He was a real man and at times an earthy man who was brash and bold. In the political correct world of today, some might have trouble with him. He did not speak for sound bites. Through this audiobook, you will have an intimate look into his world and mind. There are things you will respect and things you will admire. This look will let Luther be Luther. This is considered Luther's finest work of thought. What do you think about the freedom of the human will?

In this definitive and long-awaited biography, Jonathan Edwards emerges as both a great American and a brilliant Christian. George Marsden evokes the world of colonial New England in which Edwards was reared - a frontier civilization at the center of a conflict between Native Americans, French Catholics, and English Protestants. Drawing on newly available sources, Marsden demonstrates how these cultural and religious battles shaped Edwards' life and thought.

Historia
In this comprehensive exposition, a leading New Testament scholar explores the unfolding theological unity of the entire Bible from the vantage point of the New Testament. G. K. Beale, coeditor of the award-winning Commentary on the New Testament Use of the Old Testament, examines how the New Testament storyline relates to and develops the Old Testament storyline. Beale argues that every major concept of the New Testament is a development of a concept from the Old and is to be understood as a facet of the inauguration of the latter-day new creation and kingdom.

Great Theologian
I enjoyed this book! It’s encouraging and strengthening to our faith! I wish we could here sermons like this in church but even ministers don’t understand the New Covenant. The narrator is fantastic! I could listen to his voice all day!

Galatians, Luther
This is medicine for the soul.
Luther lived and prayed his way through this without the help of all of the literature that we have today. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I highly recommend it to all believers.

Popery & Apostate Protestantism Put Away!
Martin Luther was a genius when it comes to the subject of Righteousness by Faith. The commentary is alive with God's word, and puts all nonsensical forms and dogmas in the wastebasket where they belong. No wonder the pope wanted to kill him! This audiobook besides being well written and very easy to listen to, presents truth that is needed today - that the forms and ceremonies of organized religion are useless rags, and that faith and belief are all that will save us.
