I originalöversättning av Klara Johanson Abbé Prevost (1697-1763) var en fransk författare och översättare. Han var känd som en kunnig anglofil, och översatte flera berömda engelska verk till franskan. Hans romaner är berömda för sin sofistikerade stil och historiska komplexitet.
