Als er zufällig auf der Straße mit Faith Monroe zusammenstößt, scheint es Schicksal für ihn zu sein, denn er ist sofort hingerissen von der unbekannten Schönheit. Umso überraschter ist der Star-Spieler, dass die knisternde Anziehungskraft offenbar nicht auf Gegenseitigkeit beruht, denn als er sie um ein Date bittet, erhält er umgehend einen Korb.

Faith Monroe, emotional überforderte Kellnerin
Männer und die Stadt New York haben eines gemeinsam: Beide haben Faith bitter enttäuscht und ihr mit Wucht die rosarote Brille genommen. Erstere meidet sie und die Träume, welche die junge Kellnerin im Big Apple verfolgt, sind bedeutend kleiner geworden. Statt des großen Durchbruchs als Tänzerin kämpft sie nun um einen besser bezahlten Job. Dass ausgerechnet ein NHL-Superstar wie Maddox ernsthaft an ihr interessiert ist, kann sie daher nicht glauben. Dennoch kann sie nicht leugnen, was für eine Wirkung er auf sie hat, denn sogar ein harmloser Handschlag hat bereits » Rock your world « Potential.
Als Maddox nicht aufgibt, muss Faith ihr Herz schützen und erzählt ihm von ihrem fünfjährigen Sohn Tobi, denn ihrer Erfahrung nach schreckt nichts einen Mann besser als eine Single-Mom ab und ein umwerfend gutaussehender, tätowierter Superstar wird da keine Ausnahme sein.
Oder etwa doch?
