Gentleman detective Lord Peter Wimsey starred in a number of novels and short stories by Dorothy L Sayers. These full-cast adaptations – first broadcast on BBC radio between 1979 and 2010 – are cherished by crime aficionados worldwide.
Murder Must Advertise sees Lord Peter going undercover in an advertising agency to investigate the death of a copywriter.
The Nine Tailors finds the aristocratic detective stranded in a remote village, where he is drawn into a case of stolen jewels and an unidentified body.
Gaudy Night takes place at Harriet Vane’s old Oxford college, where a series of spiteful pranks and poison-pen letters have torn apart the academic community. With Lord Peter’s help, can she uncover the perpetrator?
In Busman’s Honeymoon, newlyweds Harriet and Peter have their marital bliss disturbed by a body in the basement – and are once again embroiled in a murder investigation.
These evocative dramas also feature Allan Cuthbertson, Peter Jones, Joanna David and Sarah Badel.

Loved it!
This was great. I don’t usually enjoy “dramatizations” of novels, but this was so very deftly done, it was a real pleasure to listen to! Only wish it went on longer!

Wonderful!
These dramatizations are wonderful, and they add enhancement to already great stories. I am sad that I have listened to them all. Guess I will have to start over!

Sayer's original story line was over edited in Busman's Honeymoon. Nine Tailors could have used more editing it ran way too long.

love The series and have read the books and watched the old tv episodes with both Ian Carmichael and Edward Petheridge. Really nice dramatization including effects and period music. The scream was quite realistic, my husband called out in alarm! I can just imagine the pleasurable anticipation for each episode. However, this being the 21st century and bingeing a perfectly acceptable pastime I listened to the series one after another.

wonderful!
absolutely wonderful rendition of the series. I listened to book one through three the dramatized version and could not get enough of it. sad that this is over.
