INTRIGUING, THOUGHTFUL

Very interesting story/search for the almighty. I'm a proud Christian, but believe everyone has to find their own path - it's not for us to decide, or to judge, but to be faithful.

Very thought-provoking audiobook, enjoyed it and found it very intriguing :)

Thought Provoking and Moving

Looking for God within the Kingdom of Religious Confusion is written by A. W. Schade. The narration is provided by Curtis R. Sisco. This audiobook has a running time of 3 hours and 56 minutes. During that time the listener will go on a journey with Jacob Hinsen. Jacob is a man struggling with faith after the death of his 9-year-old daughter Jessica. Who died a senseless death and destroyed his world. Jacob decides to be positive that there is a God and that if he chooses the correct faith he will reunite with Jessica forever in the afterlife.

This story truly held my attention as Jacob traveled all the roads of the major religions. He carried with him his backpack loaded with notes and well planned and researched material for questioning all the major and minor faiths on the paths and tenets of their faith. During his journey to find God and the correct faith for himself Jacob traveled on the Road to Christianity, the Road to Islam, and the Road to Judaism. Each road really was inspiring and excellent for those who have never learned or read before about these major religions and the different branches of them. Each religion is discussed without bias and given equal time and reason. I was impressed with the handling of the Atheist character and the way the Jacob dealt with that topic.

The narration by Mr. Sisco was excellent. His vocal performance was perfect for this deep and substantial performance. Each character of the different faith was given a unique voice but not a caricature of that faith. The audiobook was published by AnotherView Publishing. .The production value of this audiobook was of excellent quality. I heard no problems during the entire performance. There were not any detectable flaws that I was able to hear during the entire performance. I did not hear any loops, breaks, or buzzing. The production was crisp and clear. We all have to decided

"I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review." This book was a little different than I expected, but I did enjoy it. The story has a sad beginning, with the loss of a nine year old daughter; openlilng up a search for the right direction for the father's belief. He has practiced Christianity all his life but now is looking for the true God. Christian, Buddist ort Islamic. He goes on a search and there are lots of questions to be asked and answered. Followng along I, too, had to make choices and I believe I made the right one.

Interesting story but short on the facts

This is a story about a man questioning his religious beliefs after the death of his beloved daughter. It is actively presented as a fictional story but this book does not read like a fictional story.

I had some trouble following within the story what appeared to be real vs what was apparently an allegorical or spiritual journey. At one point the main character packs his backpack with all his notes and relevant information, then says goodbye to his house and his daughters room as he will not be back for a time. Then he departs by travelling “six long days by Air, Train, and Hired Gypsy Taxi Cabs” to “The Ancient Gateway of Abraham, the only entrance to The Kingdom of Religious Confusion” and then proceeds down allegorical roads for each religion he is seeking answers from. This story appears to be trying to mash up an allegory like “The Pilgrims Progress by John Bunyan” with a fact based presentation like “The Case For Faith by Lee Strobel” except the main character in this story is a Lawyer looking for absolute proof instead of an investigative journalist looking for truth wherever that may lead.

This story has a very noticeable Catholic bias but also visits Mormonism, Lutherans, Islam, Judaism, and even a brief stop with an Atheist in his search for God. The conclusion at the end was one that I did not see coming. However, it makes sense based on the limited information presented in this story.

I just noticed that the Publishers summary says "Unbiased introduction to the deep-seated strife between and within Judaism, Christianity, and Islam" This is not contrary to what I have stated. I felt this book did an excellent job presenting Judaism and Islam in a positive light without ignoring the issues that are constantly in the news. Where the authors strong bias comes in is within Christianity. He presents Catholicism very well and even does a decent job with the Lutherans and their split from Catholicism. But the rest of Christian America is brushed off and left out in the cold. Being one of these, an American Christian, I did not feel that my beliefs we represented at all.

My personal beliefs are Christian and I had many disagreements with information presented in this book but I have tried to leave an unbiased review to the best of my ability.

I felt the story was well presented and well written. However, I also believe the author felt he knew some information that more research should have changed. This would have made a much better presentation and might have even changed the outcome of the main characters quest.

I did feel the narrator did an excellent job with this story.
