great book

You must read this book but make sure you read Mercy then Havoc,then lock I love them everyone need to be loved

lock only goal is to save his family and get his sister the help she need the right schools and allow her every opportunity even if he has to join a gang he the man of the house now. lock stumble into the most beautiful girl ever ember and life changes for him.tje challenges they face are unexpected but an amazing story.

My favorite story in the series

But I love myself some Animal and was glad for him to reappear along with my other favorite male narrator. I need for the guy who narrated Animal to narrate a lot more books.

What a great great story! I am enthralled with these characters! This is the third in the series and I recommend Reading/listening to them in order. You could not do it that way but it will mean more to you if you do. Everything about this one is excellent! The love, devotion and that Lock! I just loved his character every time he showed up. He really is a charmer!

I listened to this amazing story on audio. The narration is outstanding! I highly recommend this darker look at life.

Ps it is wonderful to see so much of previous characters!

better than the last one

I liked this one better. I like the strong females, thinking quick, rescuing themselves. the men look weak though. that's a turn off. why can't they both be strong and why can't the decision they make cross everything up... good intention gone wry. left opening for a sequel. not sure I will invest any more time in this series.

100% complete hit!

this book reminded me of why I feel in love with these characters and this author!!
I wasn't thrilled with Havoc, but Mercy is one of my all time favorite books and this book is definitely on a level with Mercy! I loved the chemistry between lock and Ember, it was instant, funny and sexy, innocent and sweet. it reminded me of being a young kid in love! Those two went through so much, had so much thrown at them and they always find a way back to each other! I dont know where this "series" could go from here, maybe a second book about Becka and Nix, but it definitely was left open (not in a cliffhanger way) and I would read anything else this author has to offer in an instant!!

Great on all levels

The first of the series, this book is great on all levels. Well written, interesting characters, and surprising twists and turns. Can’t wait to listen to the next one as these narrators are fantastic!!!

Crying Is Going To Happen

This book was so light and young, like Ember, then it grew and became dark and tangled, struggling to survive. It was good, but I cried at least 4 times because—Ember is a light in the darkness, and seeing her light flicker and almost go out on multiple occasions, watching as her world was shattered and rebuilt into ugliness, it was a shocking game change. And I hadn’t seen it coming; if anything, I want even more books with all our character, Mercy, Animal, T ect. They were/are amazing characters that I would really love to keep seeing, though I always have to take a week off after reading any of Anastasia’s books, because damn if they are not chalk full of angst. Very well written angst that you end up craving, but also end up feeling emotionally drained and like you have aged 10 yrs...so ya, the good shit.
