Easy come, easy go. Abracadabra. Make a wish. Do you believe? Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my! But here? Here we have Bears. Wolves. Mountain Lions. Lynx. A snake or two. Faeries (who knew?) And of course, Dragons. This mountain and protective valley is a safe haven for shifters and animals that need to be safe. No one can see it from above. It’s not on any map. The entrance or main road (if you can call it that) is guarded and magic abounds to hide it and this place away. What no one knows won’t hurt them, right? R-I-G-H-T. There is a secret, found, or never was lost. Just omitted? So who is right and who is wrong? Where does the blame fall? The love of a parent, constant. Never wavered. He knew this and yet….. To understand that this, something this important was not shared? The love of an uncle. In this case, Great-Uncle. Trusted? So what changed? How did it change? The day Marcus took a small side trip down the mountain. The day that the young dragon had an urge for custard pie. Marcus was now in his 20’s and would look this age (young) even after hitting his 30’s. A dragon barely shows his age after 27 or 29. Until close to a century passes then he will be looking as if in his 30’s. And so on, this is the life of a dragon. Centuries. Not years. And they have to learn to be alone until finding their mate. So Marcus, still a kid at heart had an urge for this pie. Custard Pie to be exact. One that made his mouth water just thinking about it. So, he left a note for his mom and took off. He knew he had to be careful and had learned early on how to cloak himself when flying. No need to upset people to think that something weird was living this close. Even though he was not really close….. But, today, the only thing on his mind was that custard pie. And, of course, there was only one place that served ‘the best custard pie’ in his world. That day his world changed. Shifted. Shattered? No, not that bad. He was lied to. But not. Who do you believe? A TV newscast showed a world that Marcus thought was a story his mother told him. A news photo showed Marcus people that - they are real and alive? He has other family? What does this mean?
