Acerca de esta escucha

A brilliant and touching romantic comedy from the USA Today bestselling author of The Friend Zone and The Happy Ever After Playlist.

When Vanessa Price quit her job to pursue her dream of traveling the globe, she wasn't expecting to gain millions of YouTube followers who shared her joy of seizing every moment. For her, living each day to its fullest isn't just a motto. Her mother and sister never saw the age of 30, and Vanessa doesn't want to take anything for granted.

But after her half-sister suddenly leaves Vanessa in custody of her baby daughter, life goes from 'daily adventure' to 'hourly nappy change'. The last person Vanessa expects to show up offering help is the hot lawyer next door, Adrian Copeland. After all, she barely knows him. No one warned her that he was the Secret Baby Tamer or that she'd be spending a whole lot of time with him and his geriatric Chihuahua.

Now she's feeling things she's vowed not to feel. Because the only thing worse than falling for Adrian is finding a little hope for a future she may never see.

So good!!!!

There is much more to Abby Jimenez's books than just romance, she always manages to convey real life struggles. There is a reason why she's one of the authors I read the most this year, because every time I read her, Iget a unique and moving story. 😍

I have read and loved all the books in this series, but without a doubt this is my favorite book of the three. 👑

This book was slow and romantic, sad and funny – just like real life. What I loved the most, was that the relationship between Vanessa and Adrian felt so real, that the romance between them felt natural and right. 😍
Not to mention the anxious tension I felt towards the end of the story! 😂

All in all, there is that moment when you finish a really amazing book, and you just have to take a deep breath and absorb all your emotions… that's exactly what happened to me with this book. Highly recommend! 💛💛💛

Although this book is the third in the series, it can be read as a standalone.

• I listened to the audiobook, which was SO FREAKING GOOD!

Perfect, but hits close to home

Now, don't get me wrong - this book is absolutely wonderful and just as perfect as every book by Abby Jimenez I've had the pleasure to read.

That being said, for the current situation kn my personal life, this wasn't necessarily the best choice for practicing escapism, as I had planned. I literally bought this book to escape the fact that my sister is battling cancer, and my family is trying to cope with the situation in all the dysfunctional ways possible. This story hit a little close to home - as in change the names, make everyone poor, and give no guarantee of a happy ending. I both loved this book for it's authencity, and dredded to find things go horribly wrong.

(***SPOILER*** Happy ending.)

I have all the reasons to give this book 5 stars across the board. Had I read the description, I might have waited a little before reading this. I'm glad I didn't. I choose not to give the possibility of a sad ending ruin the things I have to enjoy right now. I needed to read this book. Life's too short.

Beautiful

Love her books. This one had me to the end! Couldn’t stop listening. Love how each book highlights a hardship people go through.

unidimemsional

i am very sorry to have wasted a credit on this book. it was so unidimensional, in every way possible: the characters, the tropes, the narrative, the language. We were told everything instead of experiencing it through the characters and the narrative. The negative things that happened to the main character were so over the top, absolutely disproportionately, yet written without any sense of empathy and did not give you a sense of a real person going through those horrible things. Most of the time it felt as if the text was written by an adolescent who has no realistic sense of the adult world yet. For example, the experiences of fostering a newborn, for example, were completely out of touch with reality. The voices were fine. I quit halfway through.
