Mit 28 hat Willow Jung eigentlich alles im Leben erreicht, was sie sich vorgenommen hat: eine schöne Wohnung mitten in der Londoner Innenstadt und eine aufstrebende Karriere als Anwältin in einer der größten und berühmtesten Kanzleien ganz Englands.
Als eine Konferenz in Dublin stattfindet, möchte sie ein paar Tage vorher ausspannen und bucht sich ein Zimmer in einem Luxushotel in Irland. Blöd nur, dass ihr Handy kaputtgeht und damit auch ihr Navi nicht mehr funktioniert. Aber sie hat den Weg noch im Kopf - denkt sie. Willow landet auf der anderen Seite der Insel, im verschlafenen Örtchen: Clover Hill.
Als auch noch ihr Mietwagen im Schlamm stecken bleibt und nichts mehr geht, kommt plötzlich der Besitzer des Feldes zu ihr und bietet ihr an, in seinem Hotel zu übernachten ...
Ronan O'Connor hat eigentlich genau das, was er immer wollte: Sein Hotel und seine Ruhe. Sein Leben könnte besser nicht laufen, bis er eine junge Londonerin aus seinem Feld zieht, die aus unerklärlichen Gründen dachte, mit ihrem Mini-Mietwagen durch sein Feld fahren zu müssen. Dass sie nicht in Glover Hill gelandet ist, das gut 250 km in der anderen Richtung der Insel liegt, ist wohl Schicksal. Er würde es aber lieber Unfall nennen, denn die junge Frau aus Deutschland treibt ihn bereits seit Sekunde eins an in den Wahnsinn. Sie ist laut, fordernd und wirbelt sein friedliches Leben durcheinander. Dabei wollte er nur höflich sein, und sie bei sich übernachten lassen, damit sie am nächsten Tag wieder fahren kann.
Soweit der Plan. Doch das Leben hat für ihn etwas ganz Neues bereitgestellt, so etwas Ungewöhnliches wie Liebe, dass manchmal erst im Schlamm stecken bleiben muss, damit ein Kerl wie er sie finden kann.
Im fiktiven Clover Hill ist eigentlich nicht viel los. Es gibt Häuser, Kneipen, ein verschlafenes Innenstädtchen, viele Felder, Wälder und saftig grüne Wiesen. Hier ist es ruhig - hier kann man verweilen.
Jeder Liebesroman ist in sich abgeschlossen, es empfiehlt sich jedoch, mit dem ersten Band zu starten, um den perfekten Lesegenuss zu erzielen.
