initiated with good and active vocabulary.
This book is best way to make 'words' your friend. etymology, roots, suffixes/prefixes are what this book is all about. But then the way book is written is perfect for readers(students :) ). Chapters are so written to introduce reader to a category (doctors/emotions/mania etc.) and learn words related to that category(and also based on roots you learn words based on same root). I have been grateful to this book which got me initiated with good and active vocabulary.

I will keep this book forever.
I will keep this book forever. It isn't intimidating. In fact, I did the initial test to Learn a New Language and was happy to discover how much I do as much as I want to know! Not an intimidating book. Very well done and you can do it at your leisure. Very well written. I would recommend this as a gift.

This book was awesome!!! It greatly increased my desire to read and learn about different topics. It did a whole lot more than just teach you knew words and ideas. I love that he recommends plenty of books and magazines to run into many of the new words you've just learned.

New Language
This is one of the best vocabulary-building books I have ever read. I was introduced to this book when I was in 9th grade many many many years ago by my English teacher. I am not a good reader (I am in fact very slow) so my vocabulary has suffered. Not only do I find this book easy to read and interesting but within the first few chapters you will have greatly improved your understanding of words and their roots. Once you start to understand the roots of words your vocabulary expands exponentially.
