En Francesco Tullio Altan és un dibuixant i il·lustrador italià, conegut gràcies a la seva sèrie d’àlbums il·lustrats protagonitzats per la Pimpa. El personatge va néixer com a regal per la seva filla en 1975 i, des de llavors, l’autor ha escrit i dibuixat més de 150 llibres. La sèrie ha venut 6,5 milions de còpies i s’ha adaptat a múltiples sèries animades per la televisió pública italiana.
Ara, a l’era digital, la Pimpa s’ha adaptat a ebook i audiollibre i està preparada per ser la companya fidel d'una nova generació de nens i nenes.
